Title:  Ethical Hacking for Industrial Control Systems

Industrial control systems (ICS) play a key role in sectors like energy, water, and manufacturing, and they face unique challenges when it comes to cybersecurity. ICS incorporates a number of specialised devices and protocols not typically found in traditional IT systems, with stringent safety requirements meaning traditional pen testing approaches can be risky. 

This hands-on provides you with a basic understanding of ethical hacking against ICS devices. After a basic introduction to ICS, you will learn how to do reconnaissance in operational (OT) environments, learning how to identify key devices such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

You will then learn how to attack PLCS in order to make a physical process go wrong. This is a practical session attacking real-world devices using the Bristol Cyber Security Group ICS teaching boxes. 

No prior knowledge of ICS is required.

During the session you will use a number of open source tools and modify example python scripts.
